The USPS has been delivering Fedex packages here (NYC) for quite a while

There apparently is an arrangement with Fed Ex where the USPS delivers their
packages to your mailbox.

The Fed Ex tracking number is not recognized in the postal system - which leads
to confusion when your package doesn't show up as scheduled.

Technically, in the US, your mailbox is only for USPS use. Any other use is
illegal.

I know, it's a pain, but that is what the US Congress has enacted (probably
before I was born and I'm in my 8th decade).

Got a text message from FedEx about imminent delivery before the
week-end. So I called them and said they could drop it in the mailbox,
it's just a calendar after all. They acknowledged and noted. Then today
there was a sticker on my door about failed delivery.
Well.
Summer holidays are over up here in the Frostpit, so I called them to
book new delivery at work address.
That will probably turn out better, but nuts to them for not dropping it
in the mailbox.

Who had a failed delivery by UPS a week ago, but that's water under the
bridge.
