Whoops! Forgot your original question. CHECKED - NO FILM SHOULD GO IN CHECKED BAGGAGE. The CTX 5500 machine WILL blank your film. Happened to me at LHR.
CARRY ON - I have never experienced fogging with very low speed films (32 - 200) after 4/5 scans. I don't shoot 200-400, so can't comment on that. I would say 2 scans on 800 would be OK - I have put 1000 through carry on machines a total of 3 times through India, so judging by this , you should be OK. I expect that if kodak say 8 passes will fog 400, then 4 will fog 800, 2 1600, etc... HAND CHECK > 800 to be sure (best claim it will be pushed processed to 3200) ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, May 09, 2002 1:58 PM Subject: airport x-rays > Probably discussed previously but I haven't been paying attention (my > bad!). > > Anyway, my question is: Is 800 speed film (fuji superia) safe to pass > through an airport x-ray?
