I have made some long exposures with the D before, but ran into issues with Compton scattering that was surprisingly more pronounced than with the K-5. Other than that, I actually have an equatorial mount that I have motorised this summer and am aching to try out. It's even on-topic, since the telescope it belongs to is an old Pentax 75 EDHF. :-) Jostein
