I have several shirts that are chemically treated to help repel insects - 
they've worked for me. I believe they are Ex-Officio brand, supposedly said to 
retain their repelling ability for many washings.

You really don't want Deet anywhere near your camera/lens - it will really mess 
up the labeling and plastic parts.
