I don't think so, Bob. I ~do~ think it is intended to be used on a K body. There is a photo and description of a "Short Soft Case" in the "Asahi Pentax K Series Lenses and Accessories" (from the mid-70's) booklets that I have. (The description is exactly the same as used later with the separate MX and ME Short Soft Cases.) The material the case is made of in the auction photos appear to be the same as I've seen in some other K era (and earlier) body cases. At the same time, the material does not appear to be similar to what has been used in M era body cases (including the Soft Case EM that I have). As for the fit, I don't think the seller has the case on exactly right, although the only problem I see is that the viewfinder window is partially hidden by the way the seller installed the cover. The rest of the fit seems OK to me (at least it seems comparable to what I have on my ME version (that I am using on an ME Super). I think that an ME (etc.) or an MX would be "swimming" if put into that case, which fits the K1000 fairly well (if installed slightly askew). Fred - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
