Anyone here have an opinion on the TAMRON 28-75MM F/2.8 SP ASPHERICAL LD IF MACRO XR DI(A09) lens?
I have one. I bought it used, I think from Miserere. I quite like it. It was exactly the focal length range I needed to photograph exams at the dojo from a particular spot with an APS body.
It shares duty as a "daily driver" lens on my K-1 with my 28-105. The downside of the tamron is that it isn't weather sealed, the downside of the 28-105 is that it isn't f/2.8. So the Tamron in my indoor zoom and the Pentax is my outdoor zoom.
Just bought one of these from KEH, awaiting delivery. I've not moved up to the K1 yet but have been looking for an upgrade to the FA 28-70 f4 and FA 28-105 f4-5.6 that I've been using with film. For the time being I'm planning on using the Tamron with film, but have hopes that it might be up to snuff for eventual use on a K1.
I have had no major complaints using it on mine. Looking in lightroom, it seems that 10% of the photos on my K-1 were taken with it, about 50% with the 28-105, about 12% with the 15-30, about 3% with the 24/1.4
PS: KEH has a site-wide sale this weekend, 10% off digital gear and 20% off film gear. This lens was classified as film gear despite the Di designation.
Damn, I can't afford to save that much money.
