So far, I have 15 people who have expressed an interest in this
idea, and a few offers to pay my postage.
Kind offers, but not necessary.

Shel mentioned that the portfolio could be made available to
anyone interested. I am amenable to the idea, but I think we
will need to make multiple portfolios in order to allow a
reasonable time frame.
Also, we now have interested parties in North America, Britain,
and Australia.
So, I am thinking that we should probably create 5 or more
portfolios, to allow as many people to look at them in as short
a time as possible.

I think this is going to be a really fun project, but I forsee a
few issues that need to be gotten out of the way.
The biggie is shipping costs. Be aware, if you get involved in
this, you will be responsible for the cost of mailing a
portfolio to someone else. If the luck of the draw is that you
get to ship from North America to Ulan Bator, then that is what
you must do, and it must be sent by a quick carrier such as air
mail.
I don't want to hear anyone whinging about the fact that they
got stuck paying air postage to another continent. If this is
likely to get stuck in your craw, get out of the program, or
don't get into it.

With this in mind, I open this project up to all interested PDML
members. If you want to view a portfolio, send me a private
email with your mailing address, specifying that you are not
participating in the printing side.
If you want to participate as a PDML portfolio printer, send me
a private email indicating this.
If you are already on my list, and don't like this change to the
concept, send me an email telling me that you want to opt out.

The idea of this is to see how we print a negative, not how your
favourite commercial lab prints it onto greasy kid stuff. While
it is not policable, lets do the printing ourselves, in our own
darkrooms.
Remember, this is as much about the esthetics of the choice of
paper and image tone as it is about keeping shadow detail and
not blowing out the highlights.

I will be accepting participants until the 14th of May, for both
printing and non printing participants.
After that, too bad, so sad.
Have a geat weekend.
