I was under the impression that there were no hills, let alone mountains,
that would offer that in the UP.
Not sure they would qualify as mountains relative to their western neighbors
but the image of Carp River was taken from the Lake of the Clouds overlook
in the Porcupine Wilderness State Park in the western end of the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan. Its listed altitude is 1375ft, with Carp River listed
at 1076ft.
BTW the highest point in Michigan is Mt. Arvon, also in the western U. P. is
listed as 1979ft.
