It's a shame email can't be edited. :) In fact the book author was analyzing O'Keeffe's intimate flower studies and comparing them to Weston's shells (not Steiglitz!), but I don't believe there is any other connection. O'Keeffe denied any intentional erotic aspects and stated that critics were applying their own preconceptions to her work.
