Thanks so much for all your kind comments. You really made my day. We were
having tea on the stoep when it arrived. I had to run to get my camera,
sneak up to abour 25m & shoot. I took 8 before it flew off but this was the
only sharp one. Paul would have done better!
Igor, all the pre-K5's are noisy at ISO800 but I am often forced to go there
to get a high enough shutter speed. TAV isn't too helpful with a K7. I find
de-speckling and/or noise removal softens the image so I'd rather live with
it. If the light had been better I could have used ISO400.

The Spookvoël (Afrikaans) or Grey Headed Bush Shrike (Malaconotus blanchoti)
is a large Shrike with a bad reputation because it takes fledglings from
nests. However, its main diet is small lizards & insects which it catches on
trees in the canopy where it spends most of its time. The Afrikaans name
comes from its mournful call. It also make a clicking sound as it works its
way through the canopy.
