There are times/places when I get as far as I can with my feet - then I use the zoom for the final precise framing. Primes are fine - I use them as often as I can. Your regard for zooms as an 'annoyance' is your prerogative, but your regard does not make them an annoyance for everyone. "Oh, damn!
