Most camps in Kruger are built on riverbanks. Weirs have been built below the camps to retain sufficient water year round to attract game for tourists to observe from the human waterholes at the camps. The weirs also help to regulate waterflow. Engelhard Dam, built on the Letaba river, was financed by an American businessman.

The Letaba river is now in mini-flood, a mass of red, muddy water at the moment. Here are 3 views (scroll R for the other 2):
