Oh, he's annoyed all right. They tend to screw their eyes up, hence my
title. Buffalo are completely unpredictable & can attack without warning or
provocation. No one in their right mind walks near a herd of Buffalo. There
are at least 200 reported deaths/year in Africa. That growth at the top of
the horns would be much bigger in a mature bull.

Alan , you were in you car yes? I don't see annoyance in the bull's
expression.. looks like a wise old patriarch...
Bison not aggressive to humans on foot - don't bother us and we wont
bother you... but , of course, all breeding bulls such as bison, deer,
elk, moose become aggresive to us in the rutting season if we were to
get too close.

Thanks for your comments, John, Ken, Larry, Dan & Jack. The subdued light
helped a lot. Buffalos are neutral to cars but very aggressive to humans
on foot. The breeding bulls which move in and out of the matriarchal herds
are the most dangerous. Presumably the North American Bison are much the
same?

A young Buffalo bull showing his annoyance at our presence. One of a herd
of at least 200. Taken not
far from home near Sable Dam.
