I agree with the "we need some germs" bit. It seems that kids now live in a bit of a bubble, and only get exposed to stuff later on, when it hits them harder due to their immune system not being exercised enough. Even with allergens, now they are saying expose your kids to some of them earlier, like peanuts, etc., in order to avoid life-threatening allergies later.
