Interesting summation of your experiences with lenses on the K-1. Thanks
for posting this and your other K-1 reviews.
I'm using the same zoom setup that you are using - 28-105 Tamron 28-75.
My first impressions are that the lenses both are excellent. Maybe I got
lucky with my sample of the Tamron, but if I had to choose between the
two I'd probably pick it. It seems to be a little sharper than the
28-105 and of course infinity better at f2.8 (and other apertures) that
the 28-105 does not support. Both lenses outperform the APS-C zooms that
I was using (DFA 18-55, 16-45 and 17-70) and none of those lenses were
bad at all.
After a couple weeks I can say that the DFA 50 and 100 macros seem to be
outstanding, as well as the A*200 macro and fa50 f1.7. My Sigma 70-200
f2.8 is very good but a bit short of excellent. I need to test the FA
20-35 some more - seems to be very good at 35mm but not as strong at 20.

lens selection and reviews:
At the moment, most of the lenses I can’t afford on my wish list are
made by sigma. If sigma were weather resistant and sold their entire
line for K-mount Ricoh might sell a lot more bodies and fewer lenses.
28-105
I picked up the 28-105 so that I'd have a weather sealed standard
range zoom for use outdoors. Years ago I got a lens in this range and
it pretty much covered all of my needs at the time. It seems to be
reasonably sharp.
When much of my photography is in challenging light, I end up using
primes or my 28-75 far more often. Due to lack of space, while we have
nice weather, I've taken it out of my camera bag.
In not as nice weather it is my daily driver outdoors lens.
Tamron 28-75/2.8
This is my moderate light daily driver. Not weather sealed or as sharp
as the 28-105, not as much range, but a lot faster. If I had the
money for the 24-70 I’d probably have one.
15-30
The 15-30 is a nice lens, but it is huge.
DA 35/2.8 macro
This lens nearly works as a FF lens, there is some slight vignetting
in some circumstances which can be alleviated with a slight crop.
DFA 50/2.8 macro
I expect that I would use this lens a lot for a single walk around the
woods prime.
DFA 100/2.8 WR macro
Very sharp, very nice, bought one to supplant Tamron 90/2.8 macro
because a lot of my macro work is outdoors where it can be wet.
FA 50/1.4
In many ways this lens works very well. It is much better on FF than
on APS. However, it seems to show a bit of weakness in the coatings.
DA 55/1.4
This lens needs a sunshade that is meant for FF use. It seems to
impinge on the corners of the image.
Rokinon 24/1.4
I wish this lens had autofocus, or at least that the live view worked
better. It’s a great lens, particularly for astrolandscape photography.
18-250
While this lens is great on APS, it has an internal shade that makes
it always crop to the APS sensor.
55-300
This lens works well at the wide end and at the long end, but crops in
the middle.
50-500
My old sigma 50-500 is still reasonably sharp on the k-1, and still
has nervous bokeh. It also lacks weather sealing.
FA 80-200/2.8
31/1.8 ltd
77/1.8 ltd
Sigma 20/1.8
Much more interesting on FF than it was on APS. Since getting the
Rokinon 24/1.4 as a fast wide lens, I wasn’t using it as often and
loaned it to a friend.
Lens wish list:
Camera bag:
My fastpak 350 is nearly the perfect bag for my APS kit, but doesn't
seem to work so well for full frame. I have not yet figured out what
my standard kit is, or how I want to carry it.
Flash:
My Metz 58 flash stopped working properly with the K-1 until I
upgraded the firmware.
