I don't know what's the cause of your issue but a similar problem just happened to me.
I use Zoner Photo Studio as my image organiser. It has a nifty 'Synchronize' feature that quickly compares images in two folders and can synchronize the files between the two. I use that feature so that changes or additions in my main folder are synchroniszed across to my backup folders which are on removable drives. I recently added about 20 files to the main folder but when I went to synchronise them across to the backup, Zoner wanted to copy over 20,000 files. WTF??!! A bit of investigation showed that the files on the backup had a 1 hour time differential compared with those in the main directory. All I can think of is that the recent change in daylight saving time somehow screwed up the time stamps on either the main or backup folders. I have Faststone on my PC but I rarely use it so I don't think it was responsible. Eventually, I just let Zoner re-copy all of those 20,000 files so that my synchrionisation is now back to normal. I'm going to keep a very watchful eye on the timestamps when daylight saving kicks back in....
