John, I am sure that someone knows the answer to your question. I don’t. But I 
wanted to remind you of the old landscapers’ maxim: look behind you.

More specifically, when photographing the eclipse using the ideal lens and 
filters, don’t forget to look at the ground. Way back I was in Indiana in grad 
school, we had a (partial?) eclipse, I knew nothing, didn’t have the right 
filters, etc. But I did learn that a “pin hole camera” works really well. Hold 
a 3x5 card or whatever with a hole in it over a smooth area on the ground or a 
table or whatever. The shadow of the moon across the sun can be clearly seen. 
In Missouri some years later I dove into my driveway in the middle of another 
partial eclipse, noticed that the gaps between the leaves on the trees, that 
would normally have let some light through and left a splotch of light on the 
ground, were now casting partial-eclipse shadows everywhere. So, look up (with 
proper protection) but also look down with your backup camera or phone or 
whatever.
