I am still waiting for news about a proper K3 replacment (The KP does not really fit me) to decide to stay with the cropped format or get a K1 instead.
Then I saw that the latest K3 firmware has support for the DA 55-300mm PLM, so I upgraded my K3 firmware and bought one as a second walk-about lens for the K3, together with the 18-135mm. Got it yesterday, and shot over 400 images sofar. I must say it is remarkably fast in focussing, and I really like the 300mm reach. Image quality seems decent, on par with the 18-135. The speed with f/6.3 at the long end is fine for most of my shooting (travel, nature). Also, the rather large overlap between the two zooms make it easier to decide which one to take on specific outings, either more wide-angle or more tele :) The build quality is good as well, quite sturdy, even when fully extended. I also like the small form-factor when collapsed, it is about the same size as the 18-135mm then.
