Those magnolias are quite large now, and they lose all their leaves in the fall. In spring, they are covered with large blossoms, before the leaves appear. They onlly bloom in early, before the dogwoods. I have twoo new dogwoods, which I have planted five and two years ago, that losse some but not all of their leaves in the fall. They bloom in late spring, after the foliage bounces back, and and they have one or two blooms at a time over a period of a month or so. The magnolia in this image was planted when we built our pool, about 15 years ago. It keeps all its foliage all winter long, and has a growth spurt every spring. It blooms in late spring, with several blooms at a time, but then it continues producings occasional blooms all summer long. This bloom is one of two that opened up this weekend, in the middle of August! This is very unusual, in my experience. Does anyone know what kind of magnolia this evergreen variety might be?
