The subtitle of the book is "America’s beauty in photographs."  It's clear
he sees that beauty best when devoid of humans, or nearly so.
I am neither agreeing with that premise nor criticizing it;  jut noting
that it tis his apparent point of the view.

I don't know what it means to "Have respect for the landscape."  I enjoy
landscapes of all kinds, but whether I respect them in the morning is a
separate issue.

As to Spenser's images, they are interesting and unusual.  He seems to love
fog and mist -- and vignetting, and yellow tints.

He won't make people forget Ansel Adams, but has a unique viewpoint.
