Larry, that's an amazingly comprehensive set. Good enough for any astronomy textbook. We had a total here on 4th Dec 2002 but hardly anyone saw it because the N Limpopo Province was shrouded it cloud. All we experienced was a couple of minutes of darkness. I'll take your set as we might have seen!

On 30th June 1954 there was a total in the USA. The American astronomer, Percy Wilkins & others chased it at 10 000' in a Boeing Stratocruiser somewhat stretching the period of totality to about 7min. He made a series of pencil sketches.
