I had the K-1 with the Pentax A* 300mm 2.8 with the 1.4x extender and
one of those AstroZap solar filters someone on the list recommended.
I had just also purchased a pair of
SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO UHS-I SDXC Memory Cards from B&H, which are
much better than the old cards I had and brought as backups, the new
ones are much faster and make a difference for the K-1's large DNG RAW
files. The tripod was a Oben CT-3581 Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod with
BE-126T Ball Head, which was just sturdy enough to hold everything
(next time I'll go with something more substantial).  I figured the
tripod was the weak link, which is why I brought the IR remote and
used the mirror up shutter setting.
