A month or so ago, while circling Colusa Preserve, I saw a deer cross the tourist road a couple hundred yards ahead of me. I sort of book marked where he crossed and slowed in that area when I reached it. Sure enough, there he was. He would have been harder to spot had it not been for his ears.
