Thought I would mention this here as some of you are country and Americana
fans. My wife, Alma, has always wanted to do a radio show featuring her
favourite music, and now she has been given the chance. A local community radio
station called Witney Radio (www.witneyradio.co.uk and 99.9FM in Oxfordshire,
UK) has given her a monthly one hour slot. She loves country, Americana and
roots music and will be featuring interviews with musicians and producers in
the future. She kicked off with an intro show with some of her favourites and
you can listen here if you've got an hour free and enjoy music from the likes
of Johnny Cash, K D Lang, Andrew Combs (who??!), The Treetop Flyers
(who!??!?!?!) amongst others. Easy listening - very enjoyable. Recorded and
produced by me :-)

Congratulations to her.

The term Americana comes from the radio stations KFAT and KPIG
http://www.kpig.com
KPIG also has the distinction to be the first radio station to simulcast on the web. Unfortunately at one point the FCC changed the way that they get charged royalties and can no longer afford to simulcast for free. You can test drive the pig stream for a week for free though:

Also the KPIG greatest hits CDs are awesome:
