Not sure if it's the same problem but my 60-250/4 is in France for
service right now. ETA next Friday.
AF it wasn't dead, just refusing to focus to infinity. On the K-3ii it
flat out refused. On the K-5 it made a couple of tries and eventually
got there after 4-5 seconds.
