Thanks, Ken. No, he has never been in the ocean or a lake. This breed of dog comes from Northwest Alaska, above the arctic circle. There. getting into water usually is deadly. Like all of our Malamutes, he avoids the water. He likes to be on the pool patio with us, but when we go into the pool, he gets visibly nervous and keeps a close watch on us. He has a small kiddie pool that I fill with Ice when it's really hot, and he loves to scratch and dig in a container of ice, but int the water, no.
