A few weeks ago we saw some large bones scattered in the barren veld across
the road from the Masorini picnic spot in Kruger. Yesterday I heard the
story. Apparently a bull hippo had died of starvation/dehydration at the
picnic spot so the park authorities dragged the carcass across the road &
allowed the scavengers to clean up. I never seem to get there at right time.
