Gnus (Wildebeest) are uncommon in our part of Kruger. This herd is certainly the largest we have ever seen around here. (there were a few more out of frame). In spite of the drought, 5 calves have been born & have survived possibly a month. There is no green grass in the 50km stretch between the Phalaborwa gate & Letaba camp. The animals have to walk for Km to find drinking water & have to be satisfied with remnants of dry grass.
