Thanks for the compliment!  The two apps I used are the 8mm vintage camera  app 
and Reel Director II video editor by Nexvio. They're available in a package on 
the App Store for some trifling amount of money:

While I've had the 8mm vintage camera app for years, I only just discovered the 
Reel Director app yesterday ... After watching their instructional video (about 
5 min), I spent an hour or so mucking with it to learn how to get the basics 
done. I'm impressed with how easy it is to figure out and learn; although I 
haven't played with iMovie on the iPad in some years, it strikes me as a bit 
easier to get my head around.
