Yep - that's the generally accepted name. "Infantigo" appears to be a US-specific corruption.
My younger brother had a very nasty case of this when he was perhaps two. It wasn't responding to the normal treatment (Gentian Violet, in those days), so our doctor decided to try a new antibiotic that had recently been made available for general use in such cases - something called "Penicillin". While Penicillin had been used by the armed forces in WWII, it took a bit longer for it to come into widespread use.
