Looks very similar to the Koels that arrive here in spring from south-east Asia and start their infuriating ko-el ko-el call from about 4am. It's amazing how far that call travels on an otherwise quiet spring/summer morning. Apparently the call is designed to upset other birds so that they leave their nests while the female Koel moves in to lay her eggs. I think yours is a different species but you'd need to be an expert to tell them apart.
