After 11 years of hard use my DA*16-50/2.8 has finally failed. And no, it's not the SDM focusing. That's worked flawlessly except for when I was half way up Mount Washington in -9 F weather; it started working again when I got down to lower elevations and higher temperatures.
Anyway, the zoom ring is stuck at 16mm and doesn't want to move. So it's off to Precision Camera. Apparently it's a flat rate repair bill of $212.50, which seems pretty reasonable. Can't really complain after 11 years of use that's seen the weather sealing thoroughly tested many times. -- Mark Roberts - Photography & Multimedia www.robertstech.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
