Nice shots but they seem to be quite distant. Unfortunately Flamingos are
synonymous with poor water quality. We get flocks of them on the mine slimes
dams about a Km from the nearest public vantage point. An illegal drone (or
a special permit) would do the trick!

Subject: OT GESO: flamingos at pulicat
so i went to pulicat again (with a friend who shoots nikon d850 and a
300/2.8 with a 1.4tc), the wintering ground for migratory birds, because
the son wanted to visit it. and i was resigned to him monopolising the
k5iis/55-300.
when we met at the lake, my friend had a little surprise for me. he had
brought his d500 and the tamron 150-600 g2 for me to shoot with. many
birders here consider it an ideal combination but i struggled with the
camera, may be due to lack of familiarity with the nikon system.
anyway, 4 photos shot with that combo:

comments appreciated....

p.s.: i am getting myself a second-hand sigma 150-500 this month end, so
the DAL 55-300 goes to the son, along with a used K-r i've bought for
him... :)
