:D That story just made my day

Rogier van der Peijl

Yesterday I ran out of film during the processional and had to reload
film right as the bride and father were walking down the aisle. I
loaded too fast, and the MZ-S jammed. I quickly handed the unit off to
my assistant, grabbed the other body and shot away.

Apparently I handed the thing off a little too hard, because I snapped
the shoe on the hot shoe adapter.

So she gets up there, and they're saying what they say, and I have a
moment to try and get the other MZ-S online. I don't have a pen handy,
so I use the corkscrew on my swiss army knife to depress the rewind
button. In my rush I stab myself on my finger. Now I'm bleeding, and
of course, the damned thing is is still jammed. I *do* have 2 or 3
shots of her coming down the aisle with her dad, so I can't just open
the thing up - it's out of commission for the ceremony.

Now I notice that I'm actually bleeding on my gear.

I have no tissues or towels, and I'm not about to let blood dry on my
lens, so, yes, I lick it off right in the middle of the ceremony.

I glance up to see all the bridesmaids staring at me as I lick my
28-70/2.8.

Otherwise it went swimmingly, except for the flash I broke.
