Here's some video highlights of a Good Day on the Bay

*About 51 seconds into the following video[0]
<https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=21&v=c12Yr8nRG1I> from the 2016
Master Mariners Regatta the Saturday before Memorial Day when we beat Freda B
and Seaward yet again, you can see Alma chewing up the water with five of her
six[1] sails grabbing the wind.

*Later, at about 1:10, she's on a close reach with the fish flying; bear
boat[2] 17 crosses behind.

*At about 1:40 is a sequence broad on Alma's port beam showing the fish set
between the two mast trucks, followed by two more Bears.

*At a bit past 3 minutes is a sequence showing my favorite vintage gaff cutter,
Polaris, not the oldest boat on the bay, but aged well.

*Now at about 4:05 is a classic Chesapeake Bay Skipjack, Egret, built here in
California.

*At 4:20 we see the Sea Scouts' Viking at the start (the start takes over an
hour!), with an all-female crew. They almost always beat the lads, who sail an
almost-identical Navy whaleboat, Corsair.

*At 5:40 we see a sequence featuring Freda B out of Sausalito, one of our Evil
Competitors. More stuff ensues, as the wind picks up.

*later at 10:10 the committee boat is off Treasure Island to record the finish,
and the videographer catches Bear #17 crossing the finish, and at 10:28 we see
Alma doing the same.

The fleet (65 vessels two years ago) proceed down the channel between Oakland
and Alameda for a big bash at Encinal YC to decompress and celebrate.

[0] from the official committee boat for the event, Sausalito YC's Mercury
[1] the fisherman stays'l is on deck waiting for Alma to tack.
[2] 22.5 foot day sailer designed and built on the shores of SF Bay, for home
builders.
