Could be an artefact of the stacking too. I've updated the file with a
tweak. Does it still show?

At full size, there seems to be some kind of halo around the rear of the body,
starting just behind the eye and increasing in intensity the further back you
look. Not apparent around the twig or around the head of the moth. Intensity
seems to depend on viewing angle, so it may be an artefact of my monitor.

This is actually a live specimen, not sedated or cooled.
The grass moths are night active, so presumably transfixed by the lights
around my macro rig. It was let out after the shoot. :-)
Stacked from 40 exposures (which probably was overkill), using a 150mm
f/2.8 and a reversed 75mm f/2.8 on the 645D.
My rig gets new tweaks every few weeks, and this time I'm quite pleased
with the lighting setup. Light is from three IKEA spots, diffused
through the translucent plastic of a butchered 20L water can.
