Ive looked up a few reviews of this lens and some complain of the lens
having flare problems,
but upon examination of all my samples, I dont see any obvious or even
subtle veiling flare
in the results. The optical design plus the SMC coatings seem to be in
control of flare. I did not
use a hood for the shots.
