Google Translate thinks it's German and translates it as "non-native".
Not sure why it first chose to translate it into Russian, but once I told it I
wanted "English", that's what it came up with.

Thanks Henk, Bob and Larry for your comments!
Henk - I had to look up "unheimisch" I'd say the nice color had a lot to do with
the angle at which the sun was hitting the board.
Larry - Yup - leaving the shadows with little detail enhances that I think.
Bob -very bizzare stuff with the hotlink! Right - that protective scaffolding
ain't so protective. rather nicely fits with the theme tho.

Ann, nice colors of the graffiti (thanks to the K5?).
But it looks indeed unheimisch there, moreover with that question there to
which the writer wants no answer.

Yes, it does look like a night scene with the lighting coming from bright
artificial light.. but it was actually taken at almost 9 am with light meter
on auto, reading off the brightly sunlit graffitied wall. - I posted this on
facebook and an old friend was worried about me being out at night in my
neghborhood :-). It looks deserted, because it is . Labor day weekend -
most residents have fled and the NYU and other educational establishment
classes haven't started yet.
K5 with the DA 18-55 - I actually took the Pentax with me as I wasn't
planning on buying heavy things and the weather was good for a walk. MIght
bring it with me today again, as I have to hit Adorama for a light magenta
cartridgedesperately needed.
