I should have been getting other things done, but I got side tracked, trying to figure out ways to smooth the horizon discontinuity.

All of them shot with the Rokinon 24/1.4 on K-1 from the same location.

I was experimenting with cropping most of the photos to just above or just below the horizon so that lightroom wouldn't get the stars right but have an ugly step in the horizon. I was mostly able to get it to work and cleaned things up with the clone tool. The horizon being a bit blurry from the astrotracer sort of helped. At some point I'll need to learn lightroom.

What I think that I need to do in the future is first off, quickly shoot horizontal frames across the horizon to get a good clean set of photos that include the horizon with minimal star motion. Then I need to shoot my panorama set with each of the other frames either above, or below, the horizon, so the horizon is in only one set of photos.

I should also probably work on getting a good set of perimeter shots, particularly the vertical edges so that I have good frames for beyond the whole area I want to shoot.
