Just a heads-up in case someone is looking for an inexpensive IPS monitor.
(There have been a few people asking on PDML not that long ago.)
Dell 27" HD LCD MOnitor, SE2717H is on sale for $119 at Office Depot:
https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/196655/Dell-27-HD-LCD-Monitor-SE2717H/?cm_mmc=Affiliates-_-CJ-_-1122587-_-11263938
I think it's the same prices at OfficeMax, which is essentially the same
chain now.
This is a budget, but seemingly reasonable quality IPS monitor with
Full-HD resolution (1920x1080).
(I haven't use it myself.)
Its gamut almost covers SRGB, - you can see a nice review of it
on TomsHardware:
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/dell-se2717h-27-inch-ips-freesync-gaming-monitor,4859-4.html
According to that review, - one of the positive things is that you get an
excellent out-of-box color accuracy. (This might be important for those
who are not using screen calibrators.)
It does not have too many options for connectors, only HDMI and VGA,
so if your computer uses DisplayPort, you'd need some adapters...
This monitor is in the category of gaming ones. I suspect that it's there
because it has a relatively fast (for IPS) response time. But it seems
rather suitable for general needs as well as photography (if you don't
need wider gamut).
Cheers,
Igor
