Two and a half months ago I sent a K-1 to Precision for update to ii.
1. GN:  Email note from UPS: a package from Precision will be delivered today, 
Adult Signature Required.
2. BN: Precision must have decided I wasn’t serious when I indicated I wanted 
email notification of any changes in status, like if they actually were working 
on the upgrade, were ready to ship, etc. Nothing from them since the first 
acknowledgment of receipt of my camera.

This is one of my biggest peeves with them. When I complained they said that they work on thousands of cameras and that I could just look on the website. When I told them that it would be trivial to set up their CRM to automatically send email, they said that that's not what they do.

3. GN: I am a few thousand miles away, but I was able to get to UPS and 
reschedule delivery.

When I complained about the delivery and tried to reschedule, they said that they couldn't. I stopped by, couldn't call, the local UPS to schedule in person pickup the morning I was leaving on my trip. I had complained to Ricoh, and unbenownst to me, they had rescheduled delivery. Fortunately, they were able to find it, even though it took a while because the guy that knew where it was was out to lunch.

On the bright side, while I was waiting someone who looked vaguely familiar came in, it turns out he's a machinist friend that I hadn't seen for years, since he moved away, didn't know he was back in town.

4. BN: it took a bit more than the promised ten days to do the upgrade.

Hoping it was worth the wait...

Yeah, after the spill I took and the problems that have developed, I was sort of wishing I could just send mine in for the upgrade and get repairs as part of the deal, but that offer has expired.
