Hi All,
After 10 or more years without a 67, I have one. Age does have a habit of
creeping up or the camera is getting heavier! Now I remember why I parted with
the first one and kept the Horseman. The Horseman, with 3 lenses is lighter
than the 67 with one lens and only takes up a little more room.
Not that I am dissatisfied, on the contrary. This thing is hand holdable
where as the Horseman is with a fitted cam. As all my lenses for it are
Rodenstock, I don't have any cams. It is used with a focusing back that is
replaced by either a 6X7 or 6X9 film holder prior to exposure.
The set I bought consist of a 6X7 MLU body, prism and waist level finders,
55 f3.5 (now where is my old hood?), 105 f2.4, 300 f4 and a helicoid extension
tube. All the lenses are the 6X7 SMC Takumars and, while the 105 and 300 show
signs of heavy usage, the glass is perfect. The body has been well looked
after and is in excellent condition. The prism has a few scratches but the WL
finder is perfect.
For field work, I prefer the WL finder as it allows for more critical
focusing and forces you to use a tripod. For me, the prism on a tripod is
useless as my tripods are not stable enough a full extension for comfortable
viewing.
We have the June long weekend coming up and I will give it a workout and
familiarise my self with it again.
