The story behind the photos….

We’re working on a farm in Salinas, they’ve got one of those cash crops where
they want a lot of security cameras and we’re doing the installation. As we
were leaving for lunch I noticed this fellow caught in something under the
eaves of a fairly tall barn 15-20 ft/ 5-7m. When I got back from lunch I
noticed that he was still there so I borrowed an extension ladder, climbed up,
caught him, and held him in my left hand while I used my work scissors to cut
away the monofilament that was twisted around his foot. Once he was clear, I
opened up my hand and he hopped onto my left arm. I climbed down the ladder and
he was just perched there, catching his breath I guess. I decided to take him
over to the yard behind the farm house, or the fence around it, he fluttered
off my arm and onto the ground.
I grabbed my camera and got a few shots of him. It already had the bigma
because I was trying to catch photos of planes flying off after the airshow
this weekend. I missed getting decent shots shots of the blue angels, Fat
Albert, an osprey (v-22 not the bird), etc.
