Micro cars have been around since at least WW!!. I know that American Pickers has shown the boys finding them, including a '70s French Mini Contessa, a '50s or '60s BMW Isetta, and a '50s or '60s Messerschmidt. I don't recognize that one, but it resembles some of the smallest micro cars made by Peel and Heinkel. With wheels that small it must burn through rubber pretty fast, but then, it is not designed to handle extensive annual mileage.
