We were royally treated by a herd of Elephants mud-bathing at the water's edge a mere 30m from the bird hide at Sable Dam this morning. It was a very noisy, messy business. The mothers are expert at protecting their offspring from the mass of out-of-control elephant flesh. When the Matriarch decided it was time to move on there was much protesting (trumpeting) by some of the juveniles. "Granny, we don't want to go!"
