While Madrid is a great city, there are other places in Spain that I enjoyed even more, especially Toledo, Cordoba and Sevilla. I was, however, disappointed by the Costa del Sol. Even in early May, it was too cold to swim, and the ocean seemed to be lines with English pubs and German beer halls.
My memories of Madrid are mostly of hanging around the Plaza Mayor, watching the people strolling late in the evening and the many great tapas bars.
