I will point out however, that "Jim Crow", no matter how blatant it was in the
south was actual law in all 48 states and the Federal government.
And today, despite the Civil Rights movement, the Civil Rights Act and the
Voting Rights Act, it remains a problem in all 50 states as well as the Federal
government. Some places just do a better job of hiding it while other places
blatantly flaunt it.
