Thanks for looking and commenting, Alan. The three Spanish cathedrals we visited (Madrid, Toledo, and Cordoba) had a much more closed-in feeling than the (many!) French, German, and British ones we’ve visited. There is a lot of heavy ornamentation, and in one of them (can’t recall at the moment whether Cordoba or Grenada) the choir completely separated the chancel from the nave.
