Long after the early spring dogwood blossoms have disappeared, spring
rebounds with the Kousa dogwoods. Unlike the early dogwoods, Kousas flower
after all the leaves have developed. Since they blossom long after the
magnolias and ealy dogwoods have lost their blooms, the Kousa is especially
welcome. As a bonus, later they develop globular, fleshy, red fruits
resembling raspberries, which are very attractive to song birds.
