Heh. I don’t know of any bears in the area recently. There is a rather notable local story involving a bear and Mountain Charlie: http://www.mountaincharlie1850.org/mountain_charlie_story.html Interestingly, for many years I’d confuse Charlie McKiernan with Charley Parkhurst, another very colorful local who was about 12 years older. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charley_Parkhurst While we don’t have many (any?) local bears these days, Bear Creek park is in the town of Los Gatos which was named for the cougars in the area. Mountain lions do seem to be making quite the comeback, and every few weeks it seems that someone will post a video that a security camera had taken of a cougar in their yard. > > Alan C > > On 04-Aug-19 09:28 AM, Larry Colen wrote: >> I was driving home from San Jose a couple weeks ago and stopped by a new >> regional park that just opened up. >> >> I only walked a short ways up the trail, and took a few photos. >> >> https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/albums/72157710063773342 >> >> C&C appreciated as always >> >> Here’s the website: >> https://www.openspace.org/preserves/bear-creek-redwoods >> >> >> -- >> Larry Colen >> [email protected] >> >> >> >> > > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > [email protected] > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow > the directions. > -- Larry Colen [email protected] -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
